Spearheading an email campaign does not necessarily ensure a higher click through rate (CRT). Most of us have learnt it the hard way but despite this, few of us dare to tread on a different path. Success is a hard thing to come by when it comes to email marketing campaign. However, there are certain tips that you can try out:
1. Email Subject Line
Writing an email subject line is the most trickiest part. When you done right, your email message will be explored further and a bad one can be ended up in the trash. The best email subject lines are simple, short and descriptive providing the reader with a good reason why your email should be opening further.
As a rule of thumb in email marketing, keep your subject line to 50 characters or less. Also avoid using the words such as “free” since they tend to trigger spam filter, and negatively affect your open rates.
2. From Name
The From information is as important as your email subject line. As a best practice, your company name should be used instead of your email address. This entry should not change from time to time and should concisely convey where the email is coming from.
3. Personalisation
You cannot make all your readers happy by approaching them the same way. You need to do something to add personal touch in email campaign such as greeting your recipient with his first name or last name (e.g. Hi John) instead of using generic words.
4. Clear Call-to-action button or link
Sometimes, email newsletters are beautifully designed and filled with qualify content except a strong call-to-action. You don’t want your email campaign only to be read, and finally, ended up in the trash. A few tips to lay out your call-to-action button in your email message:
- Place your call-to-action button above the fold as you optimising your landing page,
- Lay it out to stand out from your message and be consistent
- Provide a clear message and
- Single action point is the best and too many messages will kill your conversation.
5. Use Catchy Text
The success of an email campaign is invariably associated with how it is crafted. Words have to be chosen carefully and they should be powerful enough to create a strong impression on the readers. The message alsol has to be simple yet catchy, pithy and to-the-point. Moreover, it should dictate in simple English why the readers should read it.
6. Use Good Graphics
Make sure your email doesn’t look bored. Never use any ordinary graphics because it can have disastrous impacts on your ongoing marketing campaign. Use of gorgeous graphics can generate an impressive outcome.
7. Make It Spam Free
Never use any phrase like “Free” or too many exclamation marks in the subject of the email because they might get sorted out by spam filter.
8. Do Not Make It Too Obvious
The purpose of an email campaign has to be garbed under the veil of a brilliant marketing campaign. But, educate your readers by adding as much information about your product or service as possible.
